1. What type of data does the VDR/S-VDR record?
The VDR/S-VDR will normally record GPS, Gyro, Speed Log and any other device giving the standard NMEA 0183 output.
Bridge audio from up to 6 microphones, including VHF communications. Radar picture, or AIS data if Radar capture is not compatible.
2. How long can the S-VDR store data?
Four days of information can be stored in the system. The data is dynamic and will be overwritten after four days.
3. If an incident/accident happens, how can the data be saved?
The last 12 hours of data can be saved by activating a save pushbutton. The saved data will be protected from being overwritten and it can be used for incident/accident analysis.
4. How to retrieve the recorded data?
A laptop can be plugged into the LAN port and the stored data can be transferred out. No special equipment are required.
5. Has the S-VDR been tested for type approval?
Yes, by TUV laboratories UK, and passed all EMC, vibration, temperature and humidity tests to IEC 60945, 61996 and LloydĄ¯s special standard. It has been tested by Qinetiq who issued the certificate of MED type-approval. This includes the USCG approval.
The S-VDR is fully compliant with IMO resolution A861.20, EC directive 1999/35/EC, SOLAS Chapter V, IEC 61162 and IEC 60945.
